Home safe and sound!! The trip back to Omaha went smoothly with no problems! Those first class seats certainly look enticing for oversea flights - it would be so great to be able to stretch out! Might just price them for future travel. I have had a nap so now want to catch up a bit... Here are photos taken while on the boat ride - won't put in any descriptions:

And now I'm nodding off so good night from Omaha!!

Our last full day in Germany! And it was fantastic!!! Started out with a delicious breakfast around 8:30 - this was one of the smaller set-ups:

Then off to Marksburg Castle in Braubach along the Rhine River in the rain! Our only rainy - on our last day of touring!
From the bus window - a barge on the Rhine

One of the many towers & castles along the Rhine - less rain now!
Upon arrival at Marksburg, the rain had stopped so we could enjoy the tour.

Then to St Goarshausen to have a quick lunch before a boat to cruise back to Rudesheim! It was now sunny but nice in the shade.
I am going to stop here for this post. To be continued...

Well, I just lost a half hour's typing so have decided I am too tired to post much tonight. We had a walking tour in Worms seeing Luther sites then on to Mainz to see one of the 30+ Gutenburg Bibles. We reached Rudesheim in time for a short rest before a tasty dinner then did an impromptu walking tour but made it back to the hotel before the bewitching hour of 10:00!!  Here are a few photos of the day.

Oh my, our time in Germany is getting very short!! Today we left what was formerly East Germany and are now in Bavaria. Land of glorious flower boxes :

We had a 3 hr bus ride from Erfurt to Rothenburg this morning.

This tunnel (I know, a lousy photo) is approximately 5 miles long!

We had a short break at this rest stop. It costs 70¢ to use the toilet but you get a 50¢coupon towards any purchase in the store!!
Upon arrival in Rothenburg, we found the hotel, parked the bus then immediately walked in through the wall to town center where we had some free time before our guided walking tour.

The gate up the street from our hotel

Inside the gate with stair access to the walk that goes all along the wall around the medieval section of the city. I did not walk it this time - we did so in 1979 (?) when both mothers visited us when we lived in Heidelberg!

Here are a few photos of places on the tour - I am tired, it is late & we have an early start tomorrow so will bid you goodnight!
